our situation
Many cultures and religions use the metaphor of light to represent higher awareness, enlightenment, and it is truly the perfect metaphor since light allows us to see where we are and where we are going. This is also true in the Jewish tradition in which many of our central books are compared to sources of light. It is our job to master our own lives to become vessels that can hold light so we can see where we are and where we are going in our lives.
our challenge
The challenges of this world extremely difficult to overcome and it requires complete commitment on our part to have a chance of mastering our own physicality. But when we do that, we can reach unimaginable heights as humans. This is a world predominantly of darkness according to Kabbalah.
our resolution
In our generation, we have all of the tools and Wisdom that we need to succeed but we are flooded with endless distractions which are meant to take our minds off of our goal. At the physical level, humanity is mastering our environment in ways that are astounding. But the power in our hands must be channeled for our benefit because almost limitless power in the wrong hands can cause disaster. We are at a critical time in human history, and the only way to reach our collective potential, is for individuals to embrace the adventure of our lives and to strive to be the highest expression of humans that we can be. If we do that, enlightenment is not far from us at all. A little bit of light dispels a lot of darkness.
